About The Valley Church

  • The Valley Church is a new church community in Lilydale, born in 2024 out of a simple but powerful idea: what if there was a place where people could come as they are, feel genuinely welcomed, and explore faith in a real and meaningful way?

Our Pastors Britt and Josh felt a strong sense that God was calling them to plant a church in the Lilydale area, and so they alongside a group of friends brought that vision to life.

So—who are we? We’re everyday people from different backgrounds who believe that Jesus brings hope, healing, and purpose. We’re here to create a space where you can belong. Whether you’re new to church, returning after a long time, or just curious—there’s a seat for you at The Valley.

We value being generous with our time, resources, and love. We aim to be authentic, not pretending to have it all together. And above all, we’re devoted—to growing in our faith, loving our community, and walking this journey together.

Everyone involved in starting The Valley Church has their own story of how they felt called to be part of something new here in Lilydale—and we believe your story matters too.

  • We share a statement of belief with over 90 other churches throughout Australia, as part of the Acts Global Churches movement.

    • The one true and living God who eternally exists in three persons in unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

    • The Divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scripture.

    • The original perfection of creation; the inherent corruptness of humanity through the Fall; the necessity of repentance and regeneration by grace and through faith in Christ alone, and the eternal separation from God of the finally unrepentant.

    • The virgin Birth, sinless life atoning death, triumphant Resurrection, ascension and continuing intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Second Coming, and eternal Kingdom reign.

    • The justification and sanctification of believers through the finished work of Christ, their security as they remain in Him, and their future resurrection in an incorruptible body.

    • The Sacrament of Baptism by immersion, and of the Lord's Supper.

    • The baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers with supernatural signs, empowering the Church for its mission in the world.

    • The gifts of the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church and ministry to the world.

    • Christ's leadership of the Church through the ascension ministries of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, for the unity, maturity and growth of the Church.

    • The privilege and responsibility of wise stewardship of all that God has given, including the practice of tithing to the local church.

    • We believe that the covenant of marriage is the union of a man and a woman who have voluntarily entered into a loving, committed and exclusive relationship for as long as both live.

  • The Valley Church was established in 2024, but the journey began well before that—with prayerful conversations, a growing conviction, and a sense that God was calling something new into the Lilydale are.

Our pastors, Britt and Josh, along with a team of faithful friends from Resound Church in Scoresby (an Acts Global Church), responded to that call with courage and obedience. What followed was a season of preparation, planning, and trust as they stepped into planting a church shaped by grace, community, and purpose.

From the very beginning, this has been a journey led by God. It has involved moments of clarity and challenge, of joy and growth, and through it all, a deepening dependence on His leading. What started as a vision from Our Pastors has become a vibrant and growing church family.

We are committed to being a community that reflects the heart of Jesus—generous, authentic, and devoted. We believe in loving our local community through meaningful outreach and practical care, whilst also being passionate about supporting global missions, extending the love of Christ beyond our own borders.

The Valley Church continues to grow, not just in number, but in faith, unity, and purpose. Though we are still in the early chapters, we look ahead with hope and expectation, trusting that God will continue to lead us every step of the way.

  • At The Valley Church, our heart is shaped by three core values that guide who we are and how we live as a faith community:

    Generous
We believe generosity reflects the character of Jesus. Whether it’s our time, resources, or care—we seek to live open-handedly, serving others with a spirit of grace and kindness. We want to be known as a church that gives freely, loves abundantly, and shows up for those in need.

    Authentic
We value real relationships and honest faith. We’re not interested in pretending to have it all together. Instead, we choose to be a church where people can come as they are—free to ask questions and grow in a space that values truth, vulnerability, and connection.

    Devoted
Above all, we are devoted to Jesus and to His way of life. This shapes how we worship, how we love one another, and how we live out our faith daily. We’re committed to walking together as a community that seeks to know God more deeply and follow Him more fully.
